Along the way, we will also visit traditional Maasai villages to immerse ourselves in their ancient and rich culture. Not to be missed is Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Park, in our view, the best location to witness the breathtaking spectacle of the Great Migration! Every year, millions of animals embark on a perilous journey in search of water and food, covering vast distances while evading predators like lions and crocodiles. It is a dramatic, high-stakes battle for survival that unfolds daily—year after year, without end.

June – July 2025 (Pre-Departure)
Online Coaching Workshops: Video Production or Crafting Powerful Narratives in English.
July 22, 2025 (Arrival in Nairobi)
Arrival in Nairobi, airport pickup. Please book a flight arriving between 10:00 AM- 8:00 PM.
July 23 – 26, 2025 (Filming & Interviews in Nairobi)
Daytime: Participate in interviews and documentary filming with the production team in Nairobi.
July 27 – 29, 2025 (Great Migration & Maasai Village Visit)
Daytime: Travel to Maasai Mara National Park to witness the Great Migration.
En route, visit an authentic Maasai village to experience their traditional culture.
July 23-29, 2025 (On-going Project Development)
Under the guidance of mentors, work on video production or a personal essay or article in English.
July 30, 2025 Departure (Program Conclusion & Airport Drop-Off)
Please book a departing flight between 10:00 AM- 8:00 PM.
Post-Trip (Completion & Submission)
Finalize and submit the project within the mentor’s designated timeframe.
FEE STRUCTURE

Pre-Trip: 6 online sessions (2 hours each), covering vlog introduction, interview & scripting techniques, camera work, and editing.
📍 On-Site Project:
Work in teams of 2-3 to produce a documentary short film, which can be used as portfolio/work-samples for media-related or university applications abroad.
Requirements: Prior experience in video production, one camera and one editing laptop per team.
Alternatively, participants can independently create a vlog, using a smartphone for filming and editing.
Fee: 48,900 RMB or $6980 USD

Pre-Departure: 3 online sessions led by cultural expert and published Canadian writer, XiRen Wang.
During the Tour: Ongoing online guidance, adjusting the elements of the story and establishing and sculpting a strong Point of View (POV).
Post-tour: 1 x editing session to refine the final piece. Additional sessions available if interested in pitching and publishing.
Requirement: Basic English comprehension and writing skills.
